NaNoWriMo 2013

Yup, it’s nearly here again guys and as with every year I have no set plan about what I am going to do (though I have a good idea – more in a moment). I have been itching to write some fiction this last week and I can see how much this has stalled in recent months. I’ve been focussed on earning from writing for a living in the here and now (pah, who needs money?) and quite frankly I miss writing fiction. I’m not doing nearly enough of it at the moment.

Yesterday I started to remedy that. Last week, I made notes for my proposed “Romans Vs Aliens” novel and yesterday afternoon I made a start on the first chapter – the one that will introduce the six main characters who will be at the core of the mission. It did make me realise how much I missed that creativity of writing any fiction – but also creating something new. All I have done the last few months (when not doing paid work) is editing my existing work.

So what I am going to do is to try to do something creative every day through November – this is my pledge for NaNoWriMo. Nothing major, just edit a chapter of Dieu Et Mon Droit here, develop the story for my Roman novel there, inch forward on Herrenvolk III and look to complete a competition entry every so often… at least until I can see a pattern emerging and wish to focus on just one of those projects.

What about you? What are your plans for November?

I’ve trawled through my archives to bring you some resources to help the creative juices to flow:

Writing something new is always fun. I like the idea of making a point of it. My plans for November is to use NaNoWriMo to finish a novelette I’m working on now and maybe part of a novel. But that might be stretching it. The important bit is to finish that novelette and I’ll be happy.

Have something to say? Go on, you know you want to:
