“Eleven’s hour is over now. The clock is striking Twelve’s”

First, let me wish you a very Merry Christmas! No doubt you are all making your final preparations for tomorrow. While you do, let me remind you of tomorrow’s biggest television event. No… not Eastenders!

EDIT: This post is getting a lot of hits. If you are looking for an episode review & analysis of The Time of the The Doctor, please CLICK HERE

Forget the spoilers, what we know, what we think we know and what the BBC has carefully drip-fed us since the 50th anniversary episode. We all have our opinions on Matt Smith’s tenure. Tennant was great but I think that Matt Smith was incredible – he took it to a new level and emulated the Doctors of old while keeping it fresh and relevant.

But to all things there is an end. Farewell Matt Smith and thanks for everything.

Thank you for fish fingers and custard.

Thank you for the bow tie.

Thank you for the Fez.

Thank you for the jammie dodger “super weapon”

Thank you for running to the stars before they flare and fade forever

But despair not because here, as with everything, there is a new start. Peter Capaldi takes stewardship of the sonic screwdriver in 2014 and an ancient, temperamental blue box with a dodgy SatNav. Onward into next year and the next 50 years.

I’ve no idea if I am going to be posting at all over the next week so I will just leave you with…

Merry Christmas everyone!
