Well, what do you know? Angry Robot didn’t just throw Dieu et mon Droit straight onto a New Year Bonfire after all, they didn’t use it as ticker tape for the New Year fireworks, no they just haven’t got around to reading it yet. They apparently had a large influx towards the end of the deadline and were not able to stick to their promise of a six month deadline. I’d given up hope by this point so this morning’s email came as a present surprise.
They have promised to read every entry, assuming we want them to carry on (which I do) and give feedback. All good news then! Though I am not expecting them to gush over it by any stretch of the imagination, I am looking forward to getting their feedback ahead of another expected rewrite.
Anybody else heard from them?
On a slightly related note, it has been a while since I have really got my teeth into any fiction. I’ve recently been on holiday with my new girlfriend and had a lot of work to do in the build up to that. The last project I started was my zombie run piece and that is very bitty. I’m getting itchy feet to write some of my Romans novel too – I guess that’s what I’ll be doing this weekend.
There is a thread over at Absolute Writers where a lot of people are saying they got the same e-mail this morning…. it’s here – http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=279377&page=15
Good luck with your novel sub tot them!
That’s great Rosie, and thank you!
