Comment Rules

I don’t have many rules, just two in fact, but it is important that visitors read them and are aware of them to keep a friendly atmosphere.

1. Be civil. On a blog post, you are going to find that there are people who disagree with you. They are entitled to their opinion just as you are entitled to yours. What I say goes and your free speech does not trump my wish to keep a civil tone on my blog

2. Don’t use my blog to promote yours. It’s become quite common on WP for members to post comments with no substance so they can promote their own blog. What do I mean by this? Something like “Hey, great post! Read my post on a totally unrelated subject here”. Don’t do it, it’s rude and a lazy way of building a relationship with an audience. Besides, that’s what Daily Post’s community pool is for.

A note on likes: I switched them off in 2012 because I felt (and still feel) the feature was being abused. Please read why I did this here.
